From My Heart to God

I have many names that I go by. Anjali, Anju, Anju-Bunju, and even Miss Kalagnanam. They all mean the same thing. They all mean me. My name is as long as a skyscraper making sharp beautiful streaks in the sky. My name is as long as the many blue miles in the sea protecting and taking care of the underworld. Most people think that my last name (Kalagnanam) is hard to pronounce. As hard a door slamming on your pinkie finger. But it’s not that complicated.

When I say my name I think of a dance, a creative dance with all types of techniques and moves, which show off all of my characteristics from school to Taekwondo. A dance, which shows care, strength, courage and love. My dance. This dance always ends with a lady giving the sacred water from her heart to God. And of course, that’s what my name means: from our hearts to God.

When I hear my name I think of a rainbow in the sky waiting to be touched, the most gigantic rainbow with all of the colors in the world. These colors represent mistakes, accomplishments, and most importantly, friends and family who love and care about me so much.

My name is a clan of bunny rabbits hopping their way to the juiciest carrot.

When I smell my name, I think of peace throughout the world. Of no terrorism, and of people being kind and respectful to one another.

My name is a butterfly flowing through the sky calling for its family.

When I taste my name I think of stars in the night summer’s sky. Showing off their vibrant colors of gold. Dipping into the clear, cool ocean to rinse off its stains.

My name is a leader, leading myself through a successful life and not following.
