Suction Cups By Camryn Ripley Plunging through the surface, I can see the pale, pale moonlight. Glittering mysteriously on these objects, with five short stubs, attached to a long spindly pole, Thrashing around, It almost falls on top of me, But in the nick of time, A current drives me away. To my home, The cushioned sponges on the ground, Make a playground, For the young. But the colors surrounding me scream the creatures name, If light and pretty, but not red and yellow, Then the creature is safe to pass, But dark and splotched, Beware, Beware, Go hide and wait- until once again the waters clear. |
