Tell Me A Story

By Robert Penn

Tell me a story.

In this century, and moment, of mania,
Tell me a story.

Make it a story of great distances,
and starlight.

The name of the story will be Time,
But you must not pronounce its name.

Tell me a story of deep delight.

By Robert Penn Warren

If you’ve never had it discussion is perfectly fruitless,

And if you have, you can tell nobody about it,

To explain silence, you scarcely try to shout it,

Let the Flute and drum be still, the trumpet tootless

Love

By Camryn Ripley

(Inspired By Robert Penn Warren)

If you’ve never had if, living doesn’t seem

worth it anymore,

And if you have, your life has one more string,

To explain the reason, for life, for living,

 for breathing, for seeing,

Let the heart and soul be peaceful,

the mind in bliss

            Tell me a story.

In this country, and state, of survival,

 Tell me a story.

Make it a story of unwilling odds, and unlikely friends.

We will call the story  Life,

            But no one must know.

Tell me a story to save my              heart.
