"Once I Met a
Man"
By: Edgar Allan
Poe
Once
I met a man
a very nice, kind man.
When I would see him
He told me to trim
the hair off of Brim.
Then one day I find he died.
People told me he was kind with a
man that was blinde.
And that person was me.
Once I met a man that was very kind

Once I Met a Man
(Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe)
Once I met a man
A very nice, kind man
Yet he seemed to want to be
Nothing more than friends with me

He told me that he never could
Love me as I thought he should
Told me we would always stay
As we were that very day
I’ve sworn to love him ‘till I die
But now I know that then I lied
For now I love another man
A very nice,
kind man

"A Dream"
By: Edgar Allan Poe
In visions of the dark night
I have dreamed o joy departed
But a waking dream of life and light
Hath left me broken-hearted.
Ah! What is not a dream by day
To him whose eyes are cast
On things around him, with a ray
Turn back upon the past?
That holy dream, that holy dream
While all the world were chiding
Hath cheered me as a lovely beam
A lonely spirit guiding.
What through that light, thro’ storm and night
So trembled from afar—
What could there be more purely bright
In Truth’s day star?

A Dream
(Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe)
I remember a time from long before
Before you came, my love
When I made plans to nevermore
Be like the lonely dove
When I saw you for the first time
It was like I was born again
I thought it must be near a crime
To be happy as I was then
I was ready to spend eternity
With you there by my side
But there is no hope for you and me
Fore to myself, I lied

I told myself it all was true
That they’d worked, my brilliant schemes
But I awake to find that you
Come only in my dreams |
