Kaiser Franz Joseph is 80!
August 18, 1910
Kaiser Franz Joseph celebrates his 80th Birthday today! The Kaiser was born on August 18th, 1830. Throughout his life he experienced many unfortunate twists of fate. In 1867 his brother Maximilian was shot to death in Mexico. In 1889 his son Rudolf committed suicide. In 1898 his beloved wife Elizabeth was brutally murdered. The dutiful and strictly raised Kaiser tried to maintain his slowly crumbling empire. Franz has been the sole ruler up until today. He viewed the constitution of the Parliament as an addition to his rule.  Even the introduction of the right to suffrage (1907) could not change his view. On the outside, the Kaiser always acts calm and in control. We congratulate him with all the best for his 80th Birthday!

Interpreter of DreamsWhere's my cigar?
November 5, 1899
Yesterday on Nov 4, 1899, Sigmund Freud’s famous work on dream research was published. Till now, people thought that dreams had no particular use. The dream theory is based on the belief that dreams can reveal valuable information on the subconscious. In addition, Freud discovered the role of sexuality and its suppression in psychological illness. With this new point of view, Sigmund Freud has made many enemies in the medical community. One can only hope that Freud does not allow them to influence him in his new way of thinking.
