Carnegie Living
the Big Life
November 3, 1908
Today Andrew Carnegie is one of the richest men in New York and he is
enjoying it by living in one of New York’s finest houses next to the
Vanderbilt Chateau. Carnegie has always demanded the most advanced
technological equipment for his steel mills and has insisted on the same for
his house. His new house is a marvel of technology today. His house can
even bring in the air from outside and heat it up. He even has a coal cart
under his house running on a railroad that helps transmit the coal to his
house. While some of us are freezing on a frigid winter day he is able to
sacrifice three carts of coal to keep his house up to temperature. |
